English Name: Distribution Himalaya (Uttar Pradesh to Bhutan)

Description: Tree 10 m. Leaves alternate, elliptic-lanceolate long-pointed, rounded-toothed, strongly 3-nerved, hairless above, white-velvety beneath, leathery, stalked. Flowers greenish-yellow, in 1-3 simple axillary spikes 5-15 cm long; male flowers globose, c. 1.7 mm across; female flowers ovoid, c. 1 mm across, white-hairy. Achenes elliptic, inflated on one side, acute at both ends.
Use: Bark juice helps coagulate blood in fresh cut. The paste is applied on sprain.
